Your files and responsibilities

You retain ownership of the files you upload. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to process those files and that the files do not contain unlawful material.

Always keep backups of original files. Metadata removal and editing should be performed on copies when the original metadata may be needed later for legal, archival, creative, or professional reasons.

Service limitations

Metadata Online is provided as a practical utility and educational resource. Metadata behavior differs by file format, application, device, and export workflow. The service cannot guarantee that every possible metadata field in every file type will be removed.

Removing metadata does not remove visible information inside a file, such as faces, addresses, usernames, screenshots, watermarks, or text. Review visible content separately before sharing files publicly.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to upload malware, unlawful content, files that violate another person's rights, or files you are not authorized to process. Automated abuse, attempts to disrupt the service, and attempts to access temporary files that belong to other users are not allowed.
